Nathan Starr

Dr. Nathan Starr is the Medical Director for Castell Home Services and the lead Hospitalist for Intermountain Healthcare’s Tele-Hospitalist Program. As medical director of Home Services, Dr. Starr oversees the hospital-level care-at-home and home primary care programs. He leads 30 Intermountain Tele-Hospitalists who support rural facilities in Utah, Nevada and Idaho with consultative and nocturnist admitting services; manage transfers within the Intermountain System; and provide readmission risk reduction consultations for a group of skilled nursing facilities in Utah.

Dr. Starr received his undergraduate degree in chemistry and medical degree at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, and he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah. He joined Intermountain Healthcare as a Hospitalist out of residency, and in 2016 he became co-director of the Salt Lake Valley Hospitalist Group, overseeing four hospitals, including a virtual hospital. He also started the Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider program at Intermountain Medical Center.
