Deborah Lin
Dr. Deborah Lin is a Senior IT Project Scientist with the Research Information Solutions and Innovation Division at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Research Institute. She received her Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine from The University of Auckland and MPH in Biomedical Informatics from The Ohio State University. She was a National Library of Medicine postdoctoral fellow in clinical and translational informatics.
As a digital health scientist, Deborah is interested in developing innovative technology-based solutions to address unmet health needs and improves healthcare delivery. Her project portfolio includes VR applications for cognitive rehabilitation, pain management, concussion awareness for youth, and implicit awareness training for physicians. Her design of a mobile application for peripartum women with opioid use disorders was a finalist in the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration MCHB Grand Challenge.
Her desire to improve healthcare delivery and patient experience directed her research focus to telehealth evaluation following the pandemic-fuelled uptake of telehealth. Using a combination of survey and EHR data analysis effort, she hopes to derive actionable insights to ensure high-quality healthcare through telehealth.
