ATA Statement on the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Outbreak

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 coronavirus situation and want to assure everyone that your health and safety are a top priority. We are in close communication with the Phoenix Convention Center, as well as related health, public safety and transportation authorities, to make sure that appropriate disease prevention, monitoring, and response protocols are in place for ATA2020.

Based on currently available information from health authorities, our present plan is to proceed with ATA2020 as scheduled. If our assessment of the situation changes, based on new and evolving developments or updated information, we will promptly update this statement regarding the status of ATA2020.

We recognize that restrictions on travel and other public health or governmental measures affecting high-risk regions at the time of the conference may prevent some people from attending or exhibiting at ATA2020. However, we look forward to most of you being able to travel safely and participate productively in this year’s annual meeting.

Measures being taken by our host convention center in Phoenix include:

  • Event services staff have increased the frequency of cleaning throughout the campus using approved disinfectants.
  • The convention center has increased the number of hand sanitizer dispensers located throughout the facility, and will be frequently monitoring them to ensure they are refilled and operating correctly.
  • In the unlikely event of a reported case of the coronavirus at the convention center or its venues, designated convention center staff will quickly communicate to you, in order to provide information and updates to your attendees.
  • The convention center has increased signage around the campus to include messages to attendees on best practices to avoid illness.

As the situation unfolds, we will provide updates as necessary.

For the most up-to-date information regarding the virus, please refer to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.
